Sioux Falls, SD – Dakota Retail Technologies has graduated from the South Dakota Technology BusinessCenter (SDTBC) and expanded to a new location in Sioux Falls. The company, a provider and integratorof retail software and technology solutions, is now located at 3500 South Kiwanis Avenue.

First‐time entrepreneurs and co‐owner’s Lonnie Ladwig and Kory Lindersmith say their business haschanged significantly during their time at the SDTBC. “ When we first started selling point of salesoftware our customers were mainly looking to improve efficiency,” says Lindersmith. “Today they stillwant that, but they are also much more interested in analytics and learning which items are selling sothey can adjust their menus to increase profits.”

Ladwig says the SDTBC played a significant role in the companies growth and success. “When we firststarted, the Technology Business Center helped us look and operate like we were a more establishedcompany.” Today, Dakota Retail is a market leader with customers in five states – South Dakota, NorthDakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska – and counts popular venues such as the 18th Amendment andthe Sioux Falls Arena among their local customers.

Along with their new 1,500 sq. ft. location, nearly twice as large as their previous office, Dakota Retailwill hire an additional technician to help support customers as the company continues to grow. “Wewere one of those unusual businesses in that when the economy entered the downturn in 2008, ourbusiness actually increased,” says Ladwig. That, combined with an expanded product line that includeshandheld devices, phone systems and security systems, will keep Dakota Retail on the front‐edge ofsupporting retail operations.

“We are excited to have played a role in Dakota Retail’s launch and growth,” says Rich Naser, theCenter’s executive director. “This is the 13th company to graduate from the Technology Business Centerand we wish Lonnie and Kory continued success.”
