DataSync founder named SD Young Entrepreneur of the Year

April 19, 2010 – Mike Vetter of DataSync in Sioux Falls has been named the South Dakota Young Entrepreneur of the Year for 2010 by the South Dakota Small Business Administration District Office. DataSync delivers hosted and integrated business applications through its DataSync Suite and has been a client of the South Dakota Technology Business Center since 2007.

"We are very excited that Mike has received this honor," said Rich Naser, the SDTBC's executive director. "Mike has always demonstrated the tenancity and passion required to grow a successful busienss."

Other top South Dakota entrepreneurs and small business champions selected for Small Business Week Awards include:

  • Marvie and Kim Tschetter, Lankota Inc. in Huron, Small Business Persons of the Year
  • The Brockelsby Family, The Black Hills Reptile Gardens, Rapid City, Family-Owned Business of the Year
  • Fran White, Black Hills Community Economic Development, Inc., Rapid City, Financial Services Champion of the Year
  • Tobey VanderLaan, Wild Dutchman Products, Inc., Mound City, Home-Based Business of the Year
  • Mark Shupick, Four Bands Community Fund, Eagle Butte, Minority Small Business Champion of the Year
  • Tom Unterseher, One World Direct, Mobridge, Small Business Exporter of the Year

All of these winners represent the best of South Dakota and we are proud to be recognizing their achievements,” said John L. Brown II, District Director of the South Dakota District Office.

These top entrepreneurs and small business champions will be honored in Rapid City on May 7th at the Black Hills Community Economic Development, Inc. annual meeting and in Sioux Falls on May 13th at the Sioux Falls SCORE Chapter and SBA South Dakota District Office Small Business Week Celebration.
